At the Library

by Luna Morris, Washington Public Library

My name is Luna Morris. I'm a high school student at WHS and work as a Page at the library. Being the most recent heir here, I've had a wonderful time getting to interact with patrons and gain new experiences. This is my first time writing for “At the Library'' and I couldn't be more excited. One thing about me is that I love music. From the moment I wake up till the moment I go to bed, there is always music in my ears. I Participate in the high school concert choir and any honor choir I can. I am also very active in the WHS drama department. Last year, I participated in both the fall play and the spring musical, and I hope to continue this year. I had a blast participating in the library's summer reading program. I discovered my new favorite book, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo, because of summer reading. If you didn't participate in summer reading this year, you definitely should next year. Speaking of library fun, we have a program called FriYAY Funday. FriYAY Fundays are on early-out Fridays and have rotating activities that include Movie Madness, Block Party, and TinkerLab. This is such an amazing, free program for kids ages k-12. Once again, I am incredibly grateful to the other staff here at the library and the opportunity to work in this wonderful environment. I hope to see you here soon!
