At the Library
By Beth Swift

My name is Beth Swift and I am the new Technology Librarian at the Washington Free Public Library.  Our library has so many things to offer beyond just checking out books! We have many digital resources available and YOU can learn how to access them. Although patrons can come in anytime during library hours to ask for help accessing our digital resources, we now offer a dedicated person, day, and time to specifically help you.

I am available weekly on Thursdays anytime between 10am and noon.  This is a walk-in service and no registration is necessary. I can help you access our digital library to read or listen to books on your device, or how to access our library printer from home to save you ink!  I can also show you how to access Kanopy, a FREE streaming platform through your library card that has movies and programs not typically found on Netflix, Prime Video or other streaming companies.

I can also help you get an email account set up and get a library card if you do not have one yet.

Stay tuned to our new Make It space which is currently in progress!  For the adults, we will have a 3-D printer, pottery wheels and kiln, sewing machines, a recording studio, podcast room and green screen and numerous Make It space activities for our youngsters.  Our Make It space is intended to open in Spring 2024  Let us know how we can help!  Life is short.

Read it, make it, do it…what are you waiting for?
