The Washington Free Public Library welcomes your suggestions for books, movies, and other materials to add to our collection. Every suggestion is carefully considered as we strive to build a collection that reflects the diverse interests and needs of our community. Purchase decisions are made using the library's Collection Development Policy (available on our Policies page), and take into account factors such as community interest, the existing collection, anticipated demand, budget, and availability from our vendors. If your suggestion is selected and the item is available, it may be ready for checkout within a few weeks. Some requests may take longer, depending on publication dates and availability.
If you are an author or publisher, we respectfully request that you go through standard marketing channels to request that we purchase your book rather than using this form.
