At the Library 9/1/22

At the Library
By Emma Kaye

As summer break comes to a close, the library remains busy as ever. School may lessen the flow of books going through our doors, but it also brings a new month of activities.

For grades K-5, there is a Jr. Librarian Training Camp on September 12th at 4pm. Participants will learn about the circulation desk and some ninja moves to survive the library obstacle course. Registration is required.

For anybody in grades K-12, join us for LEGO Club September 9th, or Tinker Lab on September 16th, for an afternoon of building and fun! If that’s not quite your style, Sing 2 will be played September 2nd, and Clifford the Big Red Dog on September 30th.

For teens, there are Teen Tuesday Matinees, occuring once a month. Currently scheduled are movies such as 10 Things I Hate About You and Uncharted. Also on the roster is a Pokémon Card Trading Night on September 20th, as well as a Teen Advisory Board Meeting on September 26th.

For teens and adults, writer Corinne Stanley will be visiting Saturday, September 10th, to lead the Washington Writer’s Workshop. The time will be split between a presentation and workshopping submissions.

For adults, this month’s Sticks & Stringswill be September 9th, and a Knitting Tour of Southern Ireland, led by Jean Frazer, will be September 13th. Harvey will show September 16th, and a whole host of Book Clubs will also meet over the month. Finally, the “Kings & Queens” card club will meet every Tuesday at 4:30.

And for anybody, join us every Thursday at 5 for family game night, and September 12th and 13th for Happy Ukulele Group!
